Novotel Ambassador Gangnam has announced the appointment of Mike Brown as the hotel’s new general manager, responsible for the overall operation of hotel.

He began his hospitality career in 1978 at the esteemed Menzies Hotel in Sydney and has expanded his seasoned professional career to various locations including Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, New Zealand  and Vietnam.

Previously, he worked in various executive positions, covering resorts, corporate orientated CBD properties and large convention multi use projects for Southern Pacific Hotel Corporation, Holiday Inn, Radisson, and Carlton.

In 2007, he joined Accor and served as the Area General Manager ? Auckland Hotels in New Zealand through to 2009.

Mr. Brown is a specialist hotel opener, successfully opening 8 hotels in 5 countries over last 20 years. Prior to arrival in Korea, he led the opening of Pullman Vung Tau, Vietnam for nearly 1 1/2 years.

In addition to being general manager of Novotel Ambassador Gangnam, Mr. Brown assumes the additional responsibility as Director of Operations for Korea, to oversee operation and brand management for 10 Accor hotels (Pullman, Novotel and Ibis) in 5 cities (Seoul, Suwon, Daegu, Changwon and Busan). Accor Korea is scheduled to open another hotel ‘Ibis Ambassador Busan City Center’ in October 2011.

On his own time, Mike Brown regularly enjoys cooking, wine appreciation, and learning about varied cultures.
