Article 1. Summary

The Ambassador Club (“Membership”) is a customer loyalty program offering various benefits such as discounts, points accumulation, etc., to members of hotels with Membership operated by the Ambassador Hotel Group (Hotel). The Ambassador Club is for domestic membership only and is not valid overseas.

Article 2. Definition of Terms

“Ambassador Hotel Group“ (“Hotel”) is the Ambassador Hotel operated domestically.
“Ambassador Club member“ (“Member”) is a customer who has agreed to the present clauses, who has registered to the Hotel for the Ambassador Club card, who has been issued the card by the Hotel, and whose Ambassador Club card has not yet expired.
“Ambassador Club Card“ (“Card”) is a membership card approved by the Hotel for normal use of Ambassador Club services.
“Ambassador Club Service "(“Service”) is the general term for benefits provided by the Hotel to the Member, such as discounts and points accumulation.
“Membership Club Registration Channel” (“Registration Channel”) is the channel wherein the Hotel, website, mobile membership app, phone, and points are stated.
“Ambassador Club Places of Use” (“Places of Use”) are the Hotels where the Ambassador Club card stated on the website and points can be used.
“Ambassador Club Terms“ (“Terms”) are defined in order for the Hotel to provide Members with Services.
“Point“ is the mileage saved based on the earning rate announced by the Hotel when the Member purchases products from the Hotel. Its value is defined by the Hotel and may be changed based on the revision of terms.
“Accumulated Points“ are the total points accumulated based on the earning rate announced by the Hotel when a Member purchases products from the Hotel.
“Usable Points” are the points that the Member can use to purchase products, etc., from the points saved based on the earning rates announced by the Hotel, excluding points that have already been used.
“ID“ is the letter and number combination approved by a company named in the membership for identification and service use by the Member.
“Password“ is the letter and number combination set by the Member to protect the privacy of the Member of the corresponding ID.

Article 3. Ambassador Club Management Hotel

An Ambassador Club Management Hotel is an Ambassador Hotel operating an Ambassador Club. The Ambassador Club Management Hotel can be viewed in the [AMBASSADOR CLUB] tab on the official webpage (www.ambatel.com).

If the member has reserved a room or a restaurant at an Ambassador Hotel that is no longer operating an Ambassador Club or is in the process of withdrawing membership before the actual stay or use, the member will not receive any membership services in the relevant hotel. Special provision services will be terminated from the day a hotel withdraws its Ambassador brand or leaves its business branch, even if the member has made reservations beforehand.

Article 4. Membership registration and card issuing

Customers who wish to use this service must fill out the application form provided by the hotel, consent to the Privacy Policy, and then apply for membership. The hotel will issue a card to the customer when an application is submitted and customer credentials have been evaluated based on criteria set by the hotel.

Given membership number when joining the website could be checked through ambatel.com PC and mobile App/web channel.

No more than two people can share the card and points saved in several different cards cannot be combined. Minors under the age of 19, corporations, societies, or other categories set by the hotel cannot apply for membership.

All information written in the registration form is assumed to be true. Members who enter false names or information cannot receive legal protection and may receive service restrictions.

After applying for the service through the registration channel, the card must be registered by creating an ID at the hotel website. The hotel holds no responsibility for any inconveniences occurring from not registering the card. The management responsibility of the ID and password belongs to the member, the ID and password must not be used by a third party, and if the ID or password has been stolen or is being used by a third party, the hotel must be notified immediately and its instructions followed.

The member must abide by these terms of service.

Article 5. Card use and management

When desiring transaction of points for purchases, the card must be shown. The hotel may ask for private information in order to confirm identification of the member showing the card. In this case, the member must accept the request of the hotel in order to receive normal services.

The card is for private use only and, without prior consent from the hotel, cannot be lent, delegated, or used for insurance purposes. The hotel holds no responsibility for any losses from lending, delegating, or using the card for insurance purposes, nor is it responsible for any losses arising from not taking action after being aware that another person had used the card.
The member must take responsibility for the card and if the card is damaged, lost, or stolen due to negligence or deliberation, and the hotel must be notified of this immediately. If the hotel receives a notification of card damage, loss, or theft, the hotel must immediately register the incident and take other necessary measures, such as terminating the card. The hotel holds no responsibility for any losses which have occurred before notification of the incident to the hotel.

Article 6. Point savings and use

6.1 Saving

When purchasing a product viable for the savings service, the member will receive savings based on the method and rates of Ambassador Club regulations as notified by the hotel in the Terms of Service. Ambassador Club card points are saved for spent fees designated to be viable for savings, excluding tax and other costs set by the hotel. Decimal points are removed before being saved.

Exempt from savings: discounted fees, tax, some promotions, minibar/room service/vouchers/coupons/points used, reservations, and travel agency products from a website other than www.ambatel.com, overlapping card points from another membership.

A member can request point adjustments by submitting receipt documents to the hotel within 30 days from the day of the point-applicable transaction. If the hotel determines the request is valid, points will be adjusted within four weeks. If the hotel determines that the saved points of a member re invalid, points can be adjusted after a notification letter or email is sent to the member.

Point savings from a stay in a room is only applicable if the reservation was made directly to the hotel, on the official website (www.ambatel.com), or by using an official app. Points can be saved based on the fee paid by the member for the stay, for a maximum of two rooms per stay. In this instance, the member must stay in person and points are given based on the number of nights stayed by the member.

If a member presents the membership card and another discount card during the transaction of a product purchase and requests a dual savings or discount, the hotel can refuse. However, in the case of a paid membership card or a partnership credit card of which the hotel was notified of beforehand, the transaction will first receive the discount then have the points saved. This may change depending on the hotel's decision.

Points are not saved for payments made before membership registration. Also, points which are saved in violation of these terms can be deleted or the service cancelled without notification.

6.2 Use

Accumulated points are converted to usable points on the date of point receipt, and usable points can be used when the accumulated points are greater than the minimum usable points set by the hotel. Members with enough usable points can use points to partially or completely pay fees when purchasing a product at locations designated beforehand by the hotel. Designated locations in which points can be used and regulations regarding accumulated points can be found on the homepage, Terms of Service, etc. These may change depending on the hotel's decision.

Article 7. Point expiry period

Points are effective for two years from the month of saving, and after two years from the first month of saving the points expire on a first-in first-out basis on the last day of every month at 24:00 hours. Expired points cannot be restored by any means. Saved points cannot be provided as cash and cannot be exchanged for vouchers or other products.

Article 8. Membership grades and privileges

Based on the conditions set by the hotel, the AMBASSADOR CLUB categorizes the membership grades into four classifications: Classic, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.

A member receives the Classic grade immediately upon joining the AMBASSADOR CLUB, and must fulfill the criteria set by the hotel to maintain or receive a grade promotion. Every 1st day of the month, membership grade will be adjusted according to the total amount paid(VAT excluded) during recent 12 months for rooms, F&B outlets, and banquet, and the given grade is valid for 12 months.

Privileges in addition to discounts, points, savings, etc. are offered to members of Silver grade or higher. Privileges are only offered to the member in person and the relevant reservation must be applicable for point savings. Grade based privileges are detailed in the [Ambassador Club] section on www.ambatel.com. The hotel may change the grade composition, privileges, and contents based on management status. In the event of changing privileges and contents, members are notified via electronic mail or a method designated at the hotel or the homepage. If an intention to withdraw membership is not communicated within one month of receiving the above notification, it is assumed that the change in Terms of Service has been agreed to.

Article 9. Member rights

A member has the right to check various privileges and points by logging into the hotel website or making an inquiry to the hotel. A member can be notified via an upload on the homepage, email, etc. of program change details, information, and points. The hotel holds no responsibility for inconveniences due to a member's negligence in checking the electronic letter or by providing incorrect information.

Article 10. Membership withdrawal, loss of qualification, and point processing

A member can request withdrawal of membership via a self-chosen method including, in person, email, or phone at any time, and the hotel will proceed with the necessary steps for membership withdrawal as soon as possible. At this moment, all saved points expire and the relevant member's account is terminated. In the case of Section ③, membership is terminated without notification.
  • ① If false information is written in the application form.
  • ② If the services related to points saving and use, under these Terms of Service, are used for inappropriate purposes.
  • ③ If the member is deceased.
  • ④ If the member violates or misuses the relevant laws regarding hotel use and services and points.
  • ⑤ If interfering with another member's use of service or threatening the transaction order by stealing information, etc.
  • ⑥ If the member violates the duty of members as regulated in these Terms of Service.
  • ⑦ If the member is interfering with the normal operations of the hotel.
A member who has lost qualifications due to the above reasons can appeal that the relevant reason was not due to their deliberation or negligence. In this case the hotel will evaluate the validity of the member's appeal and, if it is determined to be valid, normal access to services will be restored for the member.
The withdrawal of membership by request or the removal of qualifications based on the above reasons is confirmed in the following instances:
  • ① On the day membership withdrawal is requested or on the day the member is notified of loss of qualifications.
  • ② In the case of loss of qualifications due to the death of a member, the loss of qualification is confirmed on the day of death.
When membership is withdrawn by request, all point savings can no longer be used and points expire automatically on the day of the request. If qualifications are lost due to reasons listed above, points saved up to the day of qualification loss are automatically deleted.

Article 11. Service change and termination

The hotel has the right to put into effect changes, adjustments, and implementation of new terms of use after notifying the member if there is a valid reason to change, adjust, or implement new terms regarding hotel service use.

The hotel will provide services until the self-determined date of service termination, and in the case of terminating a service due to circumstances, the service can be terminated by notifying the members in person or by email 90 days before termination.

After termination of service the member cannot receive point savings benefits at the hotel, the existing points must be used until a separately determined date, and if the points are not used by then, they automatically expire.

Article 12. Revision of terms, etc.

The hotel can revise the terms of use if its necessity has been validated for the proper operation of member services, and the effects of revision applies to all members under this contract. Members will be notified of the revised terms by email or on the homepage 30 days before implementation and, if in effect, from the date officially stated in the revised terms. If no intention to withdraw membership is communicated within one month of the official publishing of the revised terms, it is assumed that the revised terms have been agreed to.

Article 13. Privacy protection

The hotel abides by the privacy protection policy set by the relevant legislation and hotel in order to protect the users' privacy, including registered user information. The hotel holds no responsibility for any information exposed due to the fault of the user. The hotel can maintain a separate privacy policy in order to protect the members' private information.

The hotel uses collected private information only in the categories stated in the Consent of Collection, Provision, and Use of Private Information as agreed to by the member for the optimization of member services, customer target marketing for a more active service, etc. Although by principle the hotel must conduct the processing and management of collected private information within itself, if necessary the work may be consigned partially or completely to companies designated by the hotel.

The member must immediately notify the hotel of any changes in private information provided to the hotel. The hotel does not take any responsibility for any losses due to the negligence to do so.

Article 14. Responsibility for copyright and terms of violation

All responsibility of violation of the terms set by the hotel is held by the violator and, if another party was harmed by this violation, they must be compensated by the violator.

The copyright and intellectual property rights for materials within the hotel homepage www.ambatel.com belong to the hotel, and must not be used or made available for a third party to use for profit making purposes by copying, transmitting, publishing, distributing, broadcasting, or other method without prior approval from the hotel.

Article 15. Interpretation of terms and court of jurisdiction

The member agrees that the interpretation and implementation of these terms must sufficiently reflect the position of the hotel, in consideration that the services are provided to the customers using the hotel on a good will dimension, points are offered free of charge, etc. The Seoul Central District Court holds jurisdiction for any conflicts related to these terms.

Article 1. Purpose

The purpose of these Terms and Conditions is to define the basic conditions and procedures to join the membership service provided by CLUB AMBER membership affiliate hotels (refer to Article 2- Definition of Terms, hereinafter ‘affiliate hotels’) within the Ambassador Hotel Group (hereinafter ‘the hotel’) targeting the members of membership program CLUB AMBER (hereinafter ‘Club Amber’).

Article 2. Definition of Terms

  • The definition of terms used in these terms and conditions are as follows.
  • 1. “CLUB AMBER” (hereinafter ‘Club Amber’) refers to ‘Hotel’ membership program that provides various ‘affiliate hotels’ use services and benefits; Free membership members (AMBASSADOR CLUB members) who sign up through the 'hotel' website(ambatel.com) and mobile app(Ambassador) should pay the annual fee according to the card type after agreeing these terms and conditions.
  • 2. “AMBASSADOR CLUB” (hereinafter ‘Ambassador Club’) refers to a rewards program that provides benefits such as saving and redemption points, discounts, and participation in events to registered members.
  • 3. “Member” refers to a person who provides personal information to 'the hotel' and registered for membership and can use the special membership service and benefit provided by ‘affiliate hotels’. Depending on the annual fees, it is divided into “reward membership(AMBASSADOR CLUB) members” (hereinafter “free members”) and “paid membership (CLUB AMBER, AMBASSADOR R, and AMBASSADOR PLUS CLUB) members” (hereinafter “paid members”).
  • 4. “Benefit” refers to all privileges, such as discounts and coupons for registered member of membership provided by ‘affiliate hotels’ until the period of expiry date of memberships. The benefits may vary depending on the membership kinds and card types; it could be changed from time to time through website notice and transferring to another party is not possible.
  • 5. “Membership card” refers to a card that ‘the hotel’ authorized and issued to members for their use of membership services. Membership cards include actual cards that are delivered to members after they have paid their annual fees and mobile cards that are issued after members have signed up through the website or mobile app. The two card types are both provided to members.
  • 6. “Coupon” refers to the voucher or discount on membership service of ‘affiliate hotels’ such as lodging and meals, and they are provided solely in digital form through the website and mobile app.
  • 7. “The website and mobile app” refer to the Internet website(ambatel.com) and the mobile app(Ambassador) of ‘the hotel’, which provides functions such as membership sign-up, checking redeemed benefits of member and remaining coupon condition.
  • 8. “CLUB AMBER membership affiliate hotels” (hereinafter ‘affiliate hotels’) refers to a hotel participating in ‘Club Amber’, and it is a hotel from which one may receive relevant benefit as a ‘Club Amber’ member. Participating ‘Affiliate hotels’ may be differ from other membership programs, and ‘affiliate hotels’ may be added or excluded at any given time by the website notice of ‘the hotel’.
  • 9. “FRIENDS CARD” (hereinafter ‘Friends Card’) refers to the card that may exceptionally provide equal discount benefit of ‘Club Amber’ to one of family and acquaintances through recommendations. The sign up to Friends Card requires an issue of a membership card through a separate sign-up procedure. Although coupon benefit is not provided to Friends Card, the card does allow ‘Club Amber’ member’s coupon to be transferred. KRW 20,000 is required for issuing the Friends Card.

Article 3. Effect of the Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions become valid by notifying the ‘Club Amber’ member at the point of the member’s sign-up through means of direct delivery, e-mails, and other methods.

Article 4. Management

  • 1. ‘The hotel’ has the management rights of ‘Club Amber’.
  • 2. ‘The hotel’ may hire a company for ‘Club Amber’ operation.

Article 5. Member Sign up

  • 1. If an individual wishes to use the ‘Club Amber’ membership service, the individual has to undergo a specific sign-up procedure that has been decided by ‘the Hotel’, pay the annual fee, then be registered to the ‘Club Amber’ members list with issuing a membership card. It is unavailable for Minors younger than 19, corporates, associations, and other groups for sign up ‘Club Amber’ membership.
  • 2. All information that have been written on the sign up form will be regarded as member information that is actually valid. The member will bear all limitations and legal disadvantages due to not entering correct names and information, and ‘the Hotel’ shall be immune from obligation.
  • 3. The member must comply with the Terms and Conditions decided by ‘Club Amber’.

Article 6. Differentiation of New and Renewed Members

‘Club Amber’ members are differentiated into new members and renewed members according to the conditions below. When a new member renews his or her membership after more than one month from the ‘Club Amber’ expiry date, then that member is regarded as a new member.
  • 1. New member: A member who has signed up to his or her membership by making the first annual fee payment of ‘Club Amber’, or has renewed after more than 1 month from the expiry date of the valid service period
  • 2. Renewed member: A member who has renewed his or her membership of ‘Club Amber’ before 1 month from the expiry date of the valid service period
  • 3. The membership benefit of new and renewed members may vary according to the decision of ‘the Hotel’.

Article 7. Membership Card and Payment of Fees

  • 1. In 10 business days from the completion of paying the annual fee of ‘Club Amber’, ‘the Hotel’ issues a membership card to the member to confirm the sign-up.
  • 2. The membership card cannot be used by any person other than the ‘Club Amber’ member himself or herself, and the card cannot be leased or transferred to another party.
  • 3. If a ‘Club Amber’ member wishes to re-issue his or her actual membership card due to its loss or damage, the member must notify ‘the Hotel’ of the situation and undergo a re-issue procedure. When re-issuing an actual card, a fee of KRW 10,000 is required. ‘Club Amber’ membership service is available through a mobile card that is issued with the actual card at the point of sign-up.
  • 4. The member is responsible for all disadvantages occurring from untimely notification of membership card loss and other circumstances to ‘the Hotel’.

Article 8. Provision and Use of Member Services

  • 1. The valid period of ‘Club Amber’ membership service and membership card is for 1 year from the date of annual fee payment.
  • 2. If a ‘Club Amber’ member uses ‘Club Amber’ membership service, the member must show the actual or mobile card to receive the benefit provided to ‘Club Amber’ members.

Article 9. Using Member Coupon

The coupon is only provided in digital form through the website or mobile app of ‘the Hotel’, and member sign up to the website or mobile app of ‘the Hotel’ is required for its issue.
  • 2. Coupons may vary in types depending on the kind of membership or card type, and can also vary according to the website notice of ‘the Hotel’.
  • 3. The coupon is only valid during its written period and its valid period cannot be extended., and using a coupon is limited on certain dates (dates designated by ‘affiliate hotels’, excluding 12/24, 12/25, 12/31).
  • 4. The coupon cannot be substituted by or exchanged with another special offer or program, and can only be used in ‘affiliate hotels’ clarified on the coupon.
  • 5. The coupon cannot be transferred except for the case of transfer to a ‘Friends card’ member designated by a ‘Club Amber’ member.
  • 6. Using the coupon and other ‘Club Amber’ membership service and benefit may be limited in specific facilities, promotions, and double discount.

Article 10. Change of Member Information

If a member changes his or her information, the member has a duty to inform ‘the Hotel’ of the change, and the member is entirely responsible for any disadvantage caused by not notifying ‘the Hotel’.

Article 11. Change of Membership Use Conditions

‘The Hotel’, if there is a necessary reason to change or amend existing using conditions of ‘Club Amber’ or add new conditions, has the right to implement the effect of the change, amendment, or addition after notifying the member according to the measures of Article 16.

Article 12. Disqualification of Membership

‘The Hotel’ may disqualify the membership and prohibit membership renewal if a member corresponds to the following Paragraphs. For membership suspension or disqualification, the refund for the annual fee for ‘Club Amber’ that has already been deposited will not be possible in any case.
  • 1. If the member has falsely written the sign-up form
  • 2. If the member has utilized his or her membership card for an illegitimate purpose (for example, gaining profit by selling the coupon that has been provided after sign up for a membership.)
  • 3. If the member has violated these Terms and Conditions
  • 4. If the member has hindered the normal management of ‘the Hotel’ through any other means

Article 13. Membership Withdrawal and Refund

A ‘Club Amber’ member may withdraw his or her memberships at any given time under the condition that the member returns the actual membership card and all existing beneficable coupons. However, the qualifications for other memberships (AMBASSADOR CLUB, AMBASSADOR R, or AMBASSADOR PLUS CLUB) are maintained regardless of ‘Club Amber’ membership withdrawal.
  • 1. If discount benefit and provided coupon of ‘Club Amber’ membership service are not used, a full refund of the annual fee is possible.
  • 2. If a member uses the discount benefit or provided coupon of ‘Club Amber’ membership, a full refund is available after a value equal to the provided membership service (used coupon value, discounted value, saved points) is paid to ‘the Hotel’ and ‘affiliate hotels’.
  • 3. If a ‘Club Amber’ member’s membership is suspended or disqualified according to Article 12, the refund policy of this Article is not applied.

Article 14. Change and Discontinuation of CLUB AMBER service

The ‘Club Amber’ membership in these Terms and Conditions may be partially changed or discontinued due to the change in contract matters of ‘the Hotel’ and other circumstances of ‘affiliate hotels’. In the case of a serious change in circumstances such as a discontinuation of ‘Club Amber’ membership service, ‘the Hotel’ notifies the member according to one or more of the measures in Article 16.

Article 15. Protection of Personal Information

  • 1. To protect personal information including member registration information, ‘the Hotel’ complies with relevant laws and the privacy policy stipulated by ‘the Hotel’. ‘The Hotel’ does not bear any legal responsibilities for information exposure arising from reasons attributable to the member.
  • 2. ‘The Hotel’ may keep a separate management policy on personal information utilization to protect the personal information of the member.
  • 3. To optimize ‘Club Amber’ membership service experience for members and customer-targeted marketing activities through membership revitalization, ‘the Hotel’ utilizes the collected personal information only within the boundaries of purpose written in the Personal Information Collection, Provision, and Utilization Agreement to which the member agreed.
  • 4. Other matters on personal information protection are announced through the website and mobile app of ‘the Hotel’.

Article 16. Revision

  • 1. ‘The Hotel’ may revise these Terms and Conditions at any given time, and within seven days after the application of the revised Terms and Conditions, ‘the Hotel’ notifies the member through one or more means including e-mail, written document, text message, or the website and mobile app notice of ‘the Hotel’. However, in the case of revising these Terms and Conditions in a manner that is disadvantageous to the member, ‘the Hotel’ makes its notice at least 30 days before its application. In such a case, the content before and after the revision is clearly compared for the member to easily understand the revision.
  • 2. The member who disagrees with the revision of the agreement may withdraw from ‘Club Amber’, and if that member does not withdraw until the effective date of the revised Terms and Conditions or does not raise any disagreement, the member is deemed to have agreed to the revised Terms and Conditions. ‘Club Amber’ withdrawal follows the procedure according to Article 13 of these Terms and Conditions.

Article 17. Competent Court

If a dispute arises upon the Club Amber membership use stated in these Terms and Conditions, the principle is for the member and ‘the Hotel’ to consult the other party to reach an agreement, and if the agreement is not reached, according to Article 36 of the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, the competent court will be the regional court of the member’s address at the point of accusation, or the regional court that has jurisdiction over the member’s residence if the member does not have an address. However, if the address or residence of the member is unclear or if the member has residence overseas, the competent court will be the court according to the Civil Procedure Act.
